Villa Ocotal is set high into the cliff, yet it's only a
quick walk to the beach. The beach in Ocotal is one-third mile long,
with splashes of volcanic rock along the tide line. There's lots
of tiny marine life to see in the tide pools, which form with the
ebb and flow of the tide. Ocotal beach is ideal for swimming and
beach activities such as 'jungle ball', which is volleyball on the
beach. At anchor in Ocotal Bay are sport-fishing boats, ready to
take the adventurous out to hook a marlin or sail fish. Snorkeling,
diving, and land excursions may also be arranged by your hosts at
Villa Ocotal. During your stay, take a stroll around. There are many
resident monkeys in the trees of Ocotal to spot, plus a myriad of
tropical birds and other wildlife to encounter. Ocotal also boasts
the only day spa in the area, which offers a host of pampering services
you're sure to enjoy. The natural beauty of Ocotal and the ambiance
of fine living have made Ocotal a prime vacation destination.

beach, a quaint Costa Rican fishing village that currently is home
to an ever-increasing number of foreigners from around the globe,
making it very electric & cosmopolitan. Coco boasts a variety
of restaurants with foreign flavors from Italy, Mexico and the
US, as well as the fresh seafood landed daily by local fishermen.
Browse the shops dotting the street in centro, (downtown) and
take in the array of arts & crafts displayed in the street market
featuring native craftsmanship & design. After sunset cocktails,
the tranquil Coco bursts into night, and' fiesta' is the word.
Of the many bars found in Coco, two are discos. Bar hopping is always
fun and a great way to take in the different ambiance's offered.
If you're feeling 'lucky' try your hand at one of the two casinos,
and drink "free" while you test Lady Luck! For one stop
shopping stop in at Luperone, Coco's large grocery store which also
sells film, beach & personal hygiene products, beer & liquor.
Leisurely strolls along the shores of Coco are a popular past time
for tourists and locals alike. The sun cascades colors across the
sparkling waters, with dramatic effect late afternoons. Beach combing
leaves you with pockets brimming of treasures from the sea. A most
interesting sight is one of the commercial fishermen unloading their
week at seas catch. Shark, tuna, dorado (mahi-mahi), and red snapper are unloaded
from small skiffs called 'pangas'. Beach volleyball is popular with
the young crowd, with nets often being raised at low tide. Low tide
is also the best time to lie out your towel and bathe in the warm
sun of Costa Rica. For the sport minded individuals, catch a wave
on a boogie board! There's always lots going on at the beach in
Playas Del Coco; where old traditions meet modern lifestyles in
harmony.
